The full moon is always a time for taking special offerings to
temples, and anniversary celebrations often take place at these
times. Major temple celebrations occur tonight at Pura Penataran
Agung at Besakih in Karangasem. Besakih is often called Bali's
Mother Temple' and is situated on the slopes of the sacred Mt.

This exhibition will be held at the Bali International Convention
Centre, in Nusa Dua with highlights being a Golf Tournament and a
wonderful Cultural Dinner. Truly a geologist's

Tumpek Kandang -
This day is devoted to the blessing of cattle and livestock, and
prayers are offered to 'Sanghyang Rare - Angon'. A small ceremony is
performed with flower offerings and holy water to ensure the well
being and prosperity of each farm. |

Prayers are said at most temples and family shrines to celebrate the
new moon. Today you may see many people dressed in traditional
clothes and carrying offering. |
